The People Behind Steady Hands

Steady Hands was built by Chantelle, Kelly & Aliesha, who all share a passion for making first aid training practical, engaging and accessible. Together, we bring experience across healthcare, education and training to create courses that build real skills, real confidence and the ability to respond when it matters most.

Co-Founder & Head Trainer

Chantelle Wineberg

With 18 years of experience across paramedicine and nursing — including 13 years as a paramedic — Chantelle has supported people through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. One of the standout highlights of her career was working as a Peer Support Dog Handler alongside her four-legged partner, Boomer.

Outside of work, Chantelle is a proud mum to three kids and two dogs (much to her husband's delight!).

Throughout her career, Chantelle has seen firsthand how much of a difference early intervention can make. In an emergency, those first few minutes matter — and giving people the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to act before emergency services arrive can genuinely save a life and improve someone's chance of recovery.

That's what drives Chantelle at Steady Hands. She believes first aid training should feel practical, approachable and relevant to real life — never intimidating or overwhelming.

Above all, she wants every participant to leave her courses having had a laugh, learnt plenty, and feeling genuinely confident that if the moment ever comes — at work, at home, on the sporting field or out in the community — they'll know exactly what to do.

Co-Founder

Kelly Dodd

After 25 years in the veterinary industry — including co-owning and managing a busy veterinary clinic — Kelly decided it was time for a new chapter. Taking a well-earned break allowed her to reflect on what she had loved most throughout her career: helping others, sharing her knowledge and giving people the skills and confidence to handle situations that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Working in veterinary care taught Kelly plenty about staying calm under pressure, thinking on her feet and providing practical care when it matters most. After decades spent caring for animals and supporting their people through all kinds of situations, joining Aliesha and Chantelle at Steady Hands First Aid felt like a natural next step.

Kelly is passionate about making first aid training hands-on, interactive and, most importantly, enjoyable. She believes that while first aid itself can be serious, learning it doesn’t need to feel intimidating. Creating a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, getting involved and having a laugh is a big part of how she approaches training.

Kelly enjoys life with her husband, their two kids and three very spoilt fur babies — Tony and Bobbi the dogs, and Magpie the cat. When she isn’t playing taxi driver to the kids’ sporting commitments, you’ll usually find her keeping active or training for her next triathlon.

For Kelly, Steady Hands is another opportunity to do what she has always loved — help people. Her goal is for everyone who attends a course to walk away feeling more capable, more confident and genuinely prepared to step in and help if the moment ever comes.

Co-Founder

Aliesha Fisher

Aliesha has worked in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) industry for nearly 20 years, with experience spanning training, resource development, compliance, operations and pretty much everything that happens behind the scenes to make great training come together.

She's always loved the education side of the industry, particularly finding ways to make training more engaging, accessible and relevant to the people actually completing it.

Outside of work, Aliesha is a proud mum of two, which means life is usually a carefully organised (and occasionally not-so-organised!) mix of work, school, kids' sport and family commitments. She's also a qualified Pilates instructor.

Steady Hands brings together two things Aliesha is deeply passionate about — education and training that makes a genuine difference.

For Aliesha, Steady Hands is about doing first aid training differently. She wants courses that are relaxed, practical and engaging, with plenty of hands-on learning and a few laughs along the way. Because at the end of the day, ticking a box and getting a certificate is one thing — walking away genuinely confident that you could step in and help someone when it matters is something completely different. That's what she wants Steady Hands to give people.
